How it works

  1. 1. Apply

Submit your resume for an open role or through our general applications post.

  2. 2. Hear from us

If there’s a match, we’ll reach out about the role you applied for, or others that fit your background and goals. If you applied generally, we’ll keep your information on hand and contact you when a good opportunity comes up.

  3. 3. Talk to a recruiter

You’ll have a phone screen with a 2A Works recruiter who will share more about the role and ask questions about your background, experience, and interest in the position.

  4. 4. Additional screening

Depending on the position, we may ask for a portfolio, assessment, or references.

  5. 5. Client interview

If it’s a match on both sides, you’ll move on to interviews with the client team.

  6. 6. Offer

You’ll receive an offer either from 2A Works or directly from the client, depending on the role.

Katie S.

Sr. partner program manager, Microsoft AI Business Solutions

My experience with 2A has been nothing short of exceptional. From day one, the team has been welcoming, responsive, and genuinely invested in my wellbeing. Being treated like an actual teammate rather than just a number is something I never expected from a staffing company.

Stephen S.

Video producer, Microsoft Research

I switched to 2A Works from another agency due to 2A's great culture and benefits. As a long-time consultant, many agencies I've worked for treated me like no more than a revenue generator. 2A Works makes a real effort to treat me like a valued employee.

FAQ

Roles & opportunities

What kind of roles does 2A Works specialize in?

We place creative, marketing, and technical professionals in contract, temp-to-hire, and full-time roles. This includes content strategists, UX designers, software engineers, project managers, product marketers, and more.

Do you offer both staffing and recruitment services?

Yes. We offer both contract staffing and direct hire recruiting services, depending on the client’s needs and the type of role. Some of our opportunities are with 2A Works as the employer; others are full-time roles directly with client companies.

Do your recruiters help fill leadership roles?

Yes. In addition to individual contributor roles, we also recruit for senior and leadership positions, including fractional leadership placements, especially in marketing, product, and technical functions.

Are your contract roles remote or in-person?

Most of our contract roles are remote, but we also support hybrid and on-site positions depending on the client’s needs. Each job description includes in-office work expectations.

Applying & interviewing

How can I be considered for open roles?

You can apply directly to any open position or submit your resume through our general application. If there’s a strong match for a specific role, we’ll reach out—and we’ll also keep your information on file for future opportunities.

Do you keep my information on file for future roles?

Yes. If you’ve applied to a role or submitted a general application, we’ll retain your information and may reach out if something new aligns with your background. There’s no harm in applying again if a future role catches your eye.

What does the application and interview process look like?

Our process typically includes a recruiter phone screen, followed by client interviews. Some roles may also require a portfolio, assessment, or references.

Will I be notified if I’m not selected for an open role?

Yes. We let candidates know when they’re not moving forward. Timelines can vary depending on applicant volume and how quickly clients review selected candidates. If you are in the interview process, we’ll do our best to update you weekly, even if it’s just to let you know that we’re still waiting to hear the client’s decision.

Will I receive feedback during the interview process?

We’ll provide feedback when we’re able to, but it depends on what the client shares with us. In some cases, we may not receive detailed feedback to pass along.

Working as a contractor for 2A Works

If I take a contract position with 2A Works, who is my employer?

If you’re a W-2 employee, 2A Works is your employer. We handle onboarding, payroll, benefits, time reporting, and HR support. You’ll do your day-to-day work for the client, but 2A manages all employment-related questions during your assignment.

If you’re a 1099 contractor, you are self-employed and not considered an employee of 2A Works. In those cases, you invoice us directly for your work, and you are responsible for your own taxes and benefits.

Do you offer benefits to contract staff?

Yes. Full-time, W-2 employees are eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k), and more. Employees who work at least 32 hours per week qualify as full-time. You can find more details on our benefits page.

What happens when my contract ends?

As your contract nears its end, we stay in close contact and actively work to line up your next opportunity. We often market strong candidates directly to our clients through one-on-one outreach and marketing efforts. While we can’t guarantee placement, we’ll advocate for you and share new roles that align with your skills and goals.

Are contract roles eligible for conversion to full-time?

Sometimes. It depends on the client’s hiring needs and internal policies. Your recruiter can let you know if conversion is a possibility for your role.

As a contractor, what opportunities are there to meet other contractors?

We host optional virtual events like networking meetups, skill-building workshops, and company-wide Town Halls so you can stay connected to the broader 2A Works community.

DEIB and our business model

How does 2A Works prioritize diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging?

We take an intentional approach to building diverse teams. This includes writing inclusive job descriptions, sourcing from diverse candidate pools, and regularly reviewing our processes to reduce bias. We support our consultants with inclusive onboarding and benefits that reflect a range of life experiences and needs. We also foster a culture of belonging within our team and in the client environments we help build.

How does 2A Works make money?

We don’t charge candidates for our services. For contract roles, we bill client companies by the hour or month based on the contractor’s work, with a margin added to the contractor’s pay rate. For recruiting and direct hire services, we typically charge clients when a candidate starts their new position. In some cases, we may also charge a fee to begin the search, depending on our agreement.
